History & Ethos
The 2D's was founded in September 2011, by Laura Kayes and Ruth Foster. With the firm belief in the power of a fully inclusive environment, a theatre group with a difference was born.
At 2Ds, we aim to promote confidence and social interactions through creativity in a safe and welcoming environment.
What do we offer?
Our fully qualified staff share our belief that the arts should be accessible to all. We pride ourselves on our relaxed and welcoming rehearsals, as we take members through the core musical theatre skills;
dance, drama and singing.
In contrast to some other schools, we create performances with our students input; we value their opinions, and all song choices are taken forward to perform our own cabaret fundraisers.
The 2D's team prides itself on a non-competitive, non audition approach to the arts. With no experience necessary, we aim to provide an encouraging atmosphere for our members to work at their own pace, choosing and creating our own arrangements of music to suit everyone.
Videos and recordings of dance and vocal numbers are uploaded in a members area, allowing everyone to practice at home.
